Biography

Michael Walsh has a MFA degree in Animation and Digital Arts from The USC School of Cinematic Arts. Where he learned about composition, lenses, film, and how to visually tell a story.

As a collector of college degrees he also holds a B.S. in Anthropolgy which he put to use for several years at the Smithsonian’s Natural History Museum, before journing west.

Over the past 15 years in the film industry, Michael has worked as a 3d Generalist, Layout Artist, Motion capture Artist/Animator, Hair and Cloth Artist, Compositor, and Stop-motion Animator. He has worked at big shops like Sony Imageworks and Rhythm & Hues, as well as many small ones. He has worked with many feature film directors as well as visual FX supervisors. He loves all aspects of the 3D process since first discovering Softimage back in 1996.
